In less than 2 months I will be Texas bound on an international flight. Something about travelling with an infant, internationally, over water, for 14 hours straight.. terrifies me! So in an effort to try and distract my mind from these terrors, I think about what our next post housing might possibly look like. Then I got to thinking " I'll be damned if our next house has a silly set up like this one and has possibly the worst interior features ever." But then on Pinterest, which reminds me.. I need to check Pinterest today... and now that I have had my ADD moment of the day, lets continue with our original scheduled programming. On Pinterest I saw the COOLEST thing ever. Well to an Interior decorator living in a rental situation, its the COOLEST thing ever.
Instant Granite! Yay! no more boring counter tops! You have no idea how unbelievably excited I am about this. I've always wanted granite counter tops, but we have always rented so I could never have them! And to add even more excitement I found magnetic appliance covers!
YAY! For stainless steel! Though, I have to admit.. I hope we have black appliances in our next government home, because stainless steel with white handles would look , well... dumb. Oh and my excitement doesn't stop there, I also found a way to temporarily 'renovate' kitchen cabinets! Though to some it's probably a no brainer to use contact paper but it definitely got the light bulb to click on in my head. And then I found renters wall paper at Sherwin Williams. I am blown away at the variety and great selection they have to offer. Bright side to all of this, it is cheaper than actually renovating, most of this you can take with you to your next home. And hopefully this means we wont have to paint and re-paint when we move again. Because, with the military.. moving is one of the inevitable's you have to face. Deployment is another. But that's another rant for another day!
